What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda,
derived from Sanskrit word - 'ayus' (life) and 'ved' (knowledge) - is a
science of life and offers a a rich, comprehensive outlook to a healthy
life. Originated about 5000 years ago in India, Ayurveda is the oldest
surviving complete medical system in the world. Ayurveda is the system of
nature cure and not only limited to body or physical symptoms but also gives
a complete knowledge about spiritual, mental and social health.

Yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the classical language of India.
Originated in India about 5000 years ago, yoga is a spiritual practice that
refers to a certain state of consciousness as well as to methods that help
one reach that goal or state of union with the divine. It is a common belief
that yoga refers to union between body and mind or body, mind and spirit,
but the traditional acceptance is union between the Jivatman and Paramatman
that is between one's individual consciousness and the Universal
Consciousness.
Yoga is the science of the Union with the divine, with Truth; Tantra is the
most direct method of controlling the energy that creates the ultimate union
with truth. The purpose of practicing yoga is to help one achieve longevity,
rejuvenation and self-realisation.
