About France
France
boasts the most varied natural environment of any country in Europe; it
varies from the lush agricultural countryside of Normandy and Brittany, or
the rolling prairies of Champagne or Beauce, to Alpine peaks, northern
spruce forests, the dry hinterland of Provence, the steppe-like plateaux of
the Causses, not to mention a very varied coastline including the North Sea,
the Channel, the Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean.
France has 32 sites classed as UNESCO world heritage sites, the latest
(listed in 2008) being the military architecture of Vauban, a collection of
14 sites around France, including the citadel at Besançon, and the
fort at Blaye, on the Gironde estuary.
France has getting on for 100 different theme parks, if you include all
categories from the amusement parks such as Eurodisney, through wildlife
parks and aquariums, to living history open-air museums.
France is world famous for its "gastronomy", its fine restaurants
and wines. Special Tours to French Vineyard are available on request.
Paris City
First
visits to Paris can be daunting: nearly every square inch of the city seems
to be seeping with history and beauty. All of it is worth seeing and
exploring, but there are some Paris tourist attractions that simply
shouldn't be missed.
The Louvre is site of the world's largest and most diverse
collection of pre-20th century painting, sculpture, and decorative objects,
The Louvre is definitely one of Paris' best attractions. Not forgetting the
Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, bask in the works of Vermeer, Caravaggio,
Rembrandt, and countless other masters
Notre Dame Cathedral's dramatic towers, spire, stained glass and
statuary are guaranteed to take your breath away
The Eiffel Tower has come to represent an elegant and contemporary
Paris. The tower crowns the Paris night sky with its festive light, and
glitters up a storm every hour. If you're looking for scenic and romantic
dining and are willing to pay steep prices for the unparalleled setting
offered by the Eiffel Tower's two restaurants (one boasts a Michelin star)
they are definitely worth a try.
Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées : The arch's beautiful
sculptures and reliefs commemorate Napoléon's generals and soldiers.
Visit the Arc de Triomphe to begin or culminate a walk down the equally
grandiose Avenue des Champs-Elysées. You can't help but feel grand
yourself.

sites glide past as you drift down the Seine river is an unforgettable and

sea, diverse shopping, splendid dining and lovely art-deco façades.
But there are several spots that a tourist simply must see, such as the
Cours Saleya Flower Market, the Matisse Museum, ancient Roman ruins, the
Russian Cathedral and more. Nice is second only to Paris in the number of
museums and galleries.
Cours Saleya Flower Market : Nice's famous Flower Market is one of

beaches always feature among its top tourist attractions. Nepture is a
popular private beach area, accessed from the Promenade des Anglais.

playground. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained in between
sightseeing trips around Nice.
Matisse Museum : The lovely and innovative art of Henri Matisse was
inspired by the fresh colors and lines of Nice. Just take a look at any of
his art peering out of balcony windows, and you will surely see the Riviera
shoreline. This vast museum shows Matisse's works from his more traditional
early days to the end of his career. There are also some of his personal
effects here. The museum gift shop features prints of the artist's works.
Russian Cathedral : The Russian aristocracy used Nice as a balmy
getaway, and left their indelable mark on the Riviera city. The cathedral is
the finest example, and provides a rare opportunity to experience the former
