Mount Kailash :

Mount
Kailash, which is believed to have been originated 30 million years ago is
one of the most revered places in the Himalayas. Cradled in the remote
corner of the Western Tibet in the Himalayas, Mount Kailash is known to be
the abode of Lord Shiva by the Hindus. This most sacred Mountain is also
venerated as the most holy pilgrimage by Buddhist, Jain and Bonpo - the
ancient religion of Tibet.
Legend says, Brahma, the creator, had a mind (Man) for the
creation of a lake (Sarovar), hence its name. Mount Kailash is
22,028 foot rock pyramid and believed to be the throne of the gods and is
esteemed by the devotees as the holy place where the divine takes earthly
form. The devotees believe that a single trip of this sacred place would
erase all their sins of the lifetime.
Mansarovar Lake :
Just besides the Mount Kailash on the Tibetan Plateau is the wide open
mouth of the giant lake - Lake Mansarovar. Lake Mansarovar is a
fifteen-mile-wide circle of dark blue colour which is amongst the most
ancient sacred sites. The water of this lake has varied colours and one is
believed to attain salvation after taking bath in it. The lake with a
circumference of 88-km, depth of 90m and total area of 320-sq-kms freezes in
the winters and melts only in spring.
History :
At a distance of 865 km from Delhi, the Kailash Mansarovar in the Himalayan
region is associated with many myths & legend. The entire place at
Kailash Mansarovar is revered as one of the most esteemed spot on the earth
and the Lake and the Mountain are the crowning jewels studded to this purest
land with magical lights and intense colours, originated in the rarefied
atmosphere. At a height of 15,000 ft, the region is guarded by huge snow
covered mountains with a shimmering lake in front, a soothing breeze blowing
around to revive your soul and an aura that makes one feel the presence of
the Almighty.
Day 01 : Kathmandu

On
the very first day you arrive at Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and shift
to the hotel, where you take your dinner and spend the night.
Day 02 : Kathamndu - Dhulikhel
Pashupati Darshan, just after the breakfast at Hotel. The rest of the day
is left for shopping and other leisure activities. After the lunch at hotel,
start your tour to Dhulikhel at around 5 pm (36 m east of Kathmandu). You
take your dinner and spend your night at the Hotel Dhulikhel.
Day 03 : Dhulikhel
The entire day is spent in knowing the atmosphere of the place and getting
habituated to it. All meals and overnight at Hotel.
Day 04 : Dhulikhel - Zhangmu - Nyalam
After the breakfast early in the morning, head towards Tibet. Lunch is
provided at the border (Nepal side). After immigration and custom
formalities move to Zhangmu (Border Tibet side). At Zhangmu, you will meet
your Chinese guide along with drivers and vehicles. Continue driving to
Nyalam after immigration and custom formalities. At Nyalam, take dinner and
overnight stay at lodge, which will be your first overnight in China.
Day 05 : Nyalam
You will be at Nyalam for the whole day to adapt yourself to the atmosphere
and climate of China. Meals and nightstay at the lodge.
Day 06 : Nyalam - Saga

After breakfast, drive to Saga, 220 kilometers from Nyalam. Your convoy will
pass through Lalungla Pass(16,000 feet above the sea level), a huge lake
Paigu Iso and Brahmaputra river. You will get a delicious packed lunch on
the way. Dinner and night stay at Camp in Saga.
Day 07 : Saga - New Dongba
At 9 in the morning, after having breakfast your group will head towards
New Dongba which is at a distance of 170 kilometers from Saga. Your entire
journey will be at an altitude of 15,000 feet above the sea level. Your
lunch will be served on the way to New Dongba. Supper and overnight stay at
the camp.
Day 08 : New Dongba - Camping at Mayumla
Again at 9 am after breakfast, your group will drive through scenic beauty
of the Tibetan Himalayas. Packed lunch will be served on the way to Mayumla,
230 kilometers from New Dongba. Since there are no lodges at Mayumla, so
enjoy camping in midst of the beautiful Himalayas. Dinner and overnight stay
at camp.
Day 09 : Mayumla - Darchen
The 9th day of your trip will give you once in a lifetime opportunity to
have a 'darshan' of the holy peak, Kailash(the residence of Lord Shiva) and
Lake Mansarovar. Your memorable day will start at 9 in the morning after
breakfast. Your convoy will drive through Mayumla Pass, which is the highest
point of driving at an altitude of 17,000 feet. You will have your lunch on
the way, while dinner and nightstay at Darchen.
Day 10 : Darchen - Tarboche - Diraphuk

After
breakfast, your hectic day starts with a drive to Tarboche, 8 kilometers
from Daechen, from where you will start 18 kilometers trekking to
Diraphuk(16,500 feet), or rather 'parikrama' of Mt. Kailash. Light lunch on
way. Dinner and overnight stay at camp.
Day 11 : Diraphuk - Zuthulphuk
Probably the most difficult and most exciting journey throughout your
yatra! The excitement grows as you trek up to 18,600 feet. You will be
served a light lunch on the way. Dinner and nightstay at the camp at
Zuthulphuk, 18 kilometers from Diraphuk.
Day 12 : Zuthulphuk - Darchen - Lake Mansarovar
After breakfast, you'll take a trek around 6 kilometers so as to reach the
point where you will have the jeep waiting for you. Take a drive to Darchen,
where you will be served packed lunch. After lunch, proceed to the holy
lake, Mansarovar. Dinner and nightstay at camp.
Day 13 : Camp at Mansarovar
Spend the entire day at Mansarovar. Along with the white beauty of snow and
river, enjoy your meals at the camp. Nightstaay in camp.
Day 14 : Mansarovar - Paryang

After
breakfast, its time to depart from the holy place! On your way back, drive
up to Paryang(280 kilometers). You will be given delicious light lunch on
the way. Dinner and nightstay at your camp or lodge at Paryang.
Day 15 : Paryang - Saga
Next morning, drive to Saga after having breakfast. You will be served a
light lunch on your way to Saga, which is 252 kilometers away from Paryaang.
After dinner, you will rest at either camp or lodge at night.
Day 16 : Saga - Nyalam
Your next move will be towards Nyalam(230 kilometers). A light lunch en
route. Dinner and nightstay at camp.
Day 17 : Nyalam - Zhangmu - Kathmandu
On your way back home, next morning you will drive to Zhangmu, 40 km from
Nyalam. Wait for immigration and custom formalities at Nepal border, after
whose clearence you can start driving to Kathmandu(136 kilometers). Lunch on
the way. In Kathmandu, chek-in at the hotel. Dinner and nightstay at the
hotel.
Day 18 : Back to Home
After breakfast, move on to airport to return back.
